Consignment FAQ's

Do we accept mail-in items?

We do accept mail-in consignments! Please email us at [email protected] to discuss the items you would like to send. We’ll provide you with a digital submission form to complete and will ask you to send photos of your items for pre-approval before shipping.

Please note: you are responsible for all shipping costs to us, as well as return shipping costs for any items we do not approve or that you decide not to consign.

Can account credit be used for trips?

Yes! Store credit can be applied toward any Zoar Outdoor adventure.  If you’d like to use your credit for a reservation, we’ll happily convert it for you.

Please note: credit cannot be used at our sister resorts, Berkshire East or Catamount.

How should I price my items?

Items in brand-new condition should be priced at least 20% below their original retail value.
Used gear in good condition should typically be priced at 40–60% of its original retail price.

Not sure where to start?  We're happy to help you set fair and competitive prices for your items - give us a call or send us an email to chat!

Can I sell gear with minor damage?

No, we only accept items in good or better condition.  In general, items in very good to excellent condition tend to sell much faster.

Rating scale

  • Excellent: Undamaged, open-box items with tags still attached; essentially new.  (Helmets, PFDs, and any rescue equipment must meet this standard.)

  • Very Good: Minor scuffs or very limited signs of use; items look nearly new.

  • Good: Noticeable signs of use but still fully functional.  Boats and paddles may have scratches or river rash.  Clothing must be clean and fully operational.

  • Poor: Items with stains, pitting, damaged seam tape, odors, broken latex gaskets, broken zippers, gear older than six years, or boats older than ten years.

Note: We do not accept retro or vintage items.
